Don't Play With Your Food is Melanie's most recent body of work. The series features 26 photographs exploring the visual intersection of art and food from some of her favorite New York restaurants such as Le Bernardin and Café Altro Paradiso. Melanie shifted her camera's focus from chefs and restaurants to the food itself - showcasing food's fun and simplistic attributes through visually arresting shots. The opening night was a huge success, and stars such as Mary Louise Parker, Bridget Moynahan, Rachael Ray, Gail Simmons, and Sylvia Weinstock were in attendance.

A Journey of Smiles, powerHouse 2006"A Journey of Smiles" was shot from 2000-2006 during Operation Smile Missions in India, China, Africa and Brazil by photographers Melanie Dunea and Nigel Parry with the aim to observe and to try to capture the spirit of each mission and to follow the crew from unloading the cargo, to selecting the children to operate on, to the surgeries and recovery.
