  • Bath Spa University
Higher Education Liaison And Recruitment Officer
Bath Spa University May 2002 - Jul 2019
    Bath, England, United Kingdom
Working in the Marketing and International Department, the primary function of my role was to design, implement and run a series of events for the University’s applicants. Each event had up to 600 visitors and no two events were the same as they were tailored to the needs of the different types of students attending. Every year I introduced new event innovations so that they maintained the University’s competitive edge. The success of these events relied on the support from other departments which required me to develop relationships with senior staff to get department buy in. In the last year I was there, senior management introduced a new applicant selection method and I was a vocal part of the working group on implementing the change.Working with the Design and CRM teams I commissioned and fed in to the design of emails and literature used at the events. Prior to department expansion, using InDesign, I designed and created attractive programmes and send them out using MailChimp. At the end of the season, I wrote reports for senior managers on the events effectiveness and included analysis of feedback, attendance stats and recommendations for the following year.I managed 150 student workers and organised their recruitment including; recruitment campaign, shortlisting, assessment, joining admin, training, job manuals and event briefing notes. In my final year, I created a Senior Student position to manage small teams of student workers, it was acknowledged by senior managers that post made a positive change to the events. I used Social Media as a tool to support workers and motivate.I public spoke at my own events and at other events to different stakeholders e.g. school students, applicants, parents, to audiences of up to 350, as event compare or on university topics. When working full-time I attended events around the UK, booking attendance and logistics, commissioning display and literature. I attend these events occasionally when working part time.
