Hi all! I'm Melanie and currently pursuing an entrance into the fields of art administration and external affairs, seeking to better strengthen the relationship between NYC's arts organizations and the public that they serve. I have a bachelor's in film production and general media studies, and my passion for writing, directing, and simply creating art has led me to also think about how other people who may not be able to afford film training can also have access to the field, as well as other artforms. Graduating during the height of the COVID-19 outbreak was heartbreaking but also eye-opening to how much we as a city need to help each other as relying on larger bureaucracies to react may prove more harmful than anything. I'm committed to the preservation of culturally diverse institutions and neighborhoods, and always am thinking about new ways that the arts and film can engage, serve, and better the city.
