I believe the time I spend working with a child is a significant part of its childhood and this thought is the driving force for my dedication and grit in shaping their learning experience. Working with bilingual families, the process of learning has been a two-way street where I have also learned commonly used words in several languages including Spanish, Turkish and Portuguese. While working in mostly economically impoverished households, I have been able to appreciate and create useful resources that are low-cost and low-tech so that learning is not hindered. My early years in the field within a multilingual diaspora have contributed to me being able to adapt and apply my skills in challenging situations. Creating inclusive and sustainable learning environments for children is a long term goal of mine. With this in mind, being part of organizations that are taking steps towards achieving this has made me realize the versatility of my skills. I continue to work with families and organizations that focus on this change every day.
