At the end of the internship, several of my clients had been with me for over six months, and others had ended sessions because they had achieved their goals. The experience was extremely rewarding, as it is exciting to watch a client make progress in their lives.

Managed teams of up to 28 Engineers and Technicians including contract workers across multiple subsystems to develop page-wide office printers.• Managed engineering teams to develop high-end office inkjet products (first page-wide printer was introduced with twice the speed and half the cost of laser printers).• Demonstrated results and skills in all phases of product development from early concept through production support.• Led and motivated the teams to deliver on-time and under-budget.• Travelled overseas to lead production build efforts. Ran meetings of up to three dozen HP R&D engineers, Contract Manufacturing engineers, managers and lead operators, and HP Operations engineers and managers, to discuss the day's issues, plan the response, clarify roles and responsibilities, and align on the next day's plan. These efforts enabled the builds to rapidly overcome issues and remain on schedule with quality output.• Supported the products into production to ensure a smooth, gradual transition from R&D-led manufacturing to Ops-led manufacturing.• Led the ME hiring for the entire lab as well as for partners with a thorough, successful set of processes. Hired dozens of experienced and college-hire engineers. Interview questions and techniques were used by other organizations due to their thoroughness and effectiveness.

Led efforts across all of the disciplines to deliver new high-end consumer Inkjet products.• Led efforts across Engineering, Regulatory, Safety, Operations, Procurement, and Ink Cartridges (out of Ireland) for a new printer platform and for two follow-on platforms (nine printers).• Defined new printer programs including determining the schedule, development budget, product costing, and development investment (people, tooling, proto builds, etc).• Met all scheduled dates for all three printer platforms, achieved all product feature improvements, achieved all failure rate reduction improvements, and exceeded the cost reduction goals on both follow-on programs.• Challenged engineers to pull the 2012 goals into the 2011 program and succeeded in the majority, saving the company hundreds of thousands of dollars per year.• Presented upper management with monthly updates showing schedule, budget, issues, plans, etc., demonstrating to them that the program was on track and issues were being appropriately managed.
