CurrentHeartland Ambulance Disaster Response Team (August 2017-Current) Emergency Medical Technician/Strike Team LeaderA designated team who prepares for and respond to any emergency incident, such as natural disasters or an interruption of business operations. Everyone is ideally trained and prepared to fulfill the roles required by specific situations. We work in conjunction with the state and local governments in those areas to assist in patient care, evacuation-related functions and any necessary Emergency Medical Services (EMS).Performs scope of practice medical interventions necessary for patientsPerforms search and rescue of patients involved in natural disasters. Assists in mobilization, ambulation and transport of patients, and families to designated safe areas.Follows specific directions and or any other duties assigned by FEMA employees.Strike Team Leader Responsibilities:Lead a team of assigned personnel in designated missions assigned by FEMA.Must be able to make rapid judgment decisions, and stand behind the decision with extensive details. Must be able to work extended hours until mission is complete and/or relieved by another team. Must be able to write or give verbal detailed report.Must be self reliant is various circumstances; Must be able to do without common daily living amenities' such as running water, bathroom facilities, sleeping amenities, food preparations, refrigerator/freezer amenities, limited or no cell phone service, charging capacities.Must be able to Must be reliable, self sufficient, and trustworthy.
