Having grown up in a Hispanic household, from a very young age, I was taught the importance ofbeing a part of a loving community such as my family. Because of this, I have a loving and passionatepersonality. Whether it be family, friends, culture, or hobbies, I dedicate a lot of my time to nurturingthese relationships. I grew up doing many different things, such as dancing, playing instruments,learning languages, and singing. However, the one thing that those experiences had in common wasthe leadership role that I played in them. I had the opportunity to teach and share my skills on manyoccasions and that is the aspect that sticks with me to this day.I am a strong believer that an educational experience should consist of a safe space in which students can approach their learning with passion and confidence. We should create a space in which every individual doesn’t have to be afraid to share their ideas by doing what they thrive in. The Universal Design of Learning will allow us to accommodate the student’s individual learning differences while stillpushing them to surpass their goals. Success comes with self-confidence and we are responsible forfueling their belief in themselves. If we set high expectations for each of our students the second theystep into our classrooms, they will be intrinsically motivated to succeed in school.
