Prepare and post monthly journal entries in accordance with company policies and deadlines for revenue, professional fee accruals, physician compensation, research, and several other lower risk areas. Perform monthly account reconciliations for corresponding general ledger accounts. Calculate monthly physician compensation based on individualized contracts for 15-20 physicians. Perform substantially all financial responsibilities related to research programs including working closely with research director and coordinators, reviewing budgets, setting up financial aspects of new research studies, calculating and recording revenue, applying payments received, and reporting on monthly activity. Review staff monthly journal entries and general ledger account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations, prepaid balances, unapplied accounts receivable, refunds, joint venture management fees, and sales tax accruals.Review and approve accounts payable invoice inputs to ensure proper processing, timely payments, and proper general ledger cutoff. Review accounts payable invoices for appropriate sales tax, assess use tax as needed, and review sales and use tax returns prepared by staff accountant. Review payroll processed internally for completeness and errors. Work with third party billing company to reconcile payment and refund discrepancies between the general ledger and subsidiary ledger.
