My first, nearly decade-long, career path in retail management led me to the role of Assistant Manager, with a great focus on customer service and training and development. In that time, I discovered the importance of transferable skills through coaching others, and helping them to grow and develop their skill-set for the future. I am always striving to acquire new skills of my own with the desire to push myself to reach greater goals and build upon my knowledge base. I believe that learning is a valuable life-long process.Consequently, I decided to return to school and pursue my greatest passion - working with older adults. I spent many hours during my undergraduate years volunteering and working in this field, and subsequently graduated with my MSc in Aging and Health. Ever since I can remember, I have always loved spending time with older adults, partly due to the influence of my own incredible grandparents. My Bubbie (grandmother), in particular, was my guiding light and best friend. As I watched her navigate life until she reached the age of 93, it became so obvious to me how many ageist barriers still exist in society. Since I have completed my Master's degree, I hope to harness what I have learned thus far in order to make positive societal changes that impact the lives of older adults.In my spare time, I love to travel and read as many books as I can get my hands on!
