Family Law and Domestic Violence Practice (2003 – 2012)•Maintain an active caseload averaging 20 -30 Divorce, Juvenile Court private custody and DV, Stalking and Civil Protection Order cases. •Manage all aspects of litigation: discovery, motions practice, hearings, settlement & trials •Achieve client goals through negotiation and contested litigation on issues of custody, property & support, intimate/ non-intimate partner abuse, and dependency. •Coordinate & manage grant including: community partner deliverables, recruiting for group participation, reporting measurable outcomes.-Supervise Domestic Violence CPO Clinic (UC Law 2004-06): Oversaw casework, file maintenance and client contacts of 10 law students including: interviewing clients, preparing legal pleadings, gathering evidence, and litigation of CPO casesChildren and Education (2008 – 2012)•Manage an active caseload averaging 20-35 cases involving special education advocacy and expulsion defense; collaborate with Juvenile Court delinquency and dependency matters via court partnership project•Obtain and enforce appropriate services pursuant to IDEIA and Section 504 of the ADA.•Improve stability of juveniles in delinquency and/or dependency proceedings, especially special educational services/success with service providers (probation, mental health, GAL, case management, and medical providers) through collaboration. •Develop tool to educate & empower parents for participation in school meetings, including pre-MFE planning. •Prepare and deliver substantive trainings to attorneys, court, GAL/CASAs, community partners, and foster parents re: educational and due process rights with respect to public schooling; legal remedies for survivors of DV, SA & stalking; local practice; legal services.Housing Law (2003 – 2006)•Maintain an active caseload of 20-30 cases re: preservation of rental housing & public housing subsidies, client damages & injunctive relief.
