I grew up in the small-town of Hope Mills, North Carolina. Hope Mills is 20 minutes down the road from a famous Army instillations, Fort Liberty, NC. Airborne! Many of my childhood memories are intertwined with meeting people from all over the world. I believe hearing stories of their travels helped spark my adventurous spirit. I love people and I love to travel, which is why I became a flight attendant. I loved being a flight attendant, and it afforded me the privilege of world travel, but my love for learning kept me yearning for a more fulfilling job. I joined the Army and became a Public Affairs Specialist, photojournalist and social media manager, that occasionally jumped out of airplanes. I saw the world, honed my craft, and met some of the best people this world has to offer. Three years ago, I became a mom, left the Army, and decided to change career paths and dive into the finance and business world. I went to school for Business Administration and that led me to where I am now. I am currently working in the Information Technology department for AmTrust Financial Services as a Vendor Analyst/Procurement Specialist, which is code for a little bit of everything. I am responsible for the day-to-day administration of technology purchases, contract management, and ensure proper budget coding for purchases. I also approve purchase orders, solicit bid proposals, and review requisitions for goods and services. I am the Contract Management System Administrator for the company, and train onboarding staff on the system. I resolve problems related to undelivered goods and work with AP to investigate and analyze any purchase discrepancies.
