I have been working in Aerospace Engineering for 9 years now at Rolls-Royce, spanning a variety of 10 different roles in 3 different geographical locations – including 3 internships, 4 Engineering Graduate Rotations, 2 longer roles on the Extended Leadership Development Program, and my current role as a Systems & Digital Designer supporting the B-52 CERP Program and the V-280 Valor Program. From 2016-2018, I held accountability on a Technology Demonstrator Program as an HP Turbine Project Lead, where I led delivery of components within the entire HP Turbine from design through manufacturing. From March 2018 to February 2019, I held a technical role as a Systems Design & Integration Engineer in LibertyWorks to gain further technical experience in systems integration, hybrid-electric technology, and advanced platforms in Future Programs. As a LibertyWorks systems designer, I supported a number of programs spanning from E-Fan X, M250 Hybrid, and fast-paced small engine development. I joined the B-52 Commercial Engine Replacement Program (CERP) proposal team in 2019 as a Systems & Digital Design Technical Specialist, supporting Advanced Platforms. My role includes B-52 Systems Integration and deployment of Digital Capabilities, such as Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), across several programs in Defense. Over the next few years, I look forward to continuing to expand, develop, and use my System Design Integration skillset to develop future aerospace products.

Engineering Graduate Development ProgramRolls-Royce Jun 2014 - Jan 2016The rotational Graduate Development Program within Engineering is a role to work alongside some of our 14,000 engineers around the globe helping find the answers to some of the industry’s toughest challenges. Engineering Graduates either work towards multi-disciplinary roles, to become specialists, or to be world experts in their field. But all of them show outstanding technical knowledge, determination and the ability to work as part of a team. This program is an opportunity to develop in-depth knowledge in a specific engineering discipline and a particular area of the business. From this foundation, engineers may choose to become a specialist, or to broaden their skill base in order to develop leadership experience. Working on live projects, engineers are exposed to the entire engineering lifecycle, problem-solving and designing integrated systems for optimum cost. Through training and develop, the challenges increase in complexity and responsibility, combining on-the-job learning with training modules and project work. -
