About Melissa Shumaker

I am an accounting student at St. Lawrence College, recently nominated for Next Best at SLC for Resiliency for 2020. I was on the Dean's List for the 2019 school year as well. Was recently part of a finalist team for the Mayor's Innovation Challenge, an extension of the Community Project Leaders Program at SLC, proposing and pitching an innovative idea to combat homelessness and affordable housing issues. Shifting from a background in sales & management in customer focused environments, I am planning on obtaining my Bachelor of Business Administration followed by my Chartered Professional Accountant designation. Having experienced youth homelessness, I now bring a personal passion for addressing homelessness, affordable housing, and at-risk youth into what I do, hoping to make a significant impact on each.Yoga, family, and friends fill up my spare time, enjoying the outdoors every chance I can.
