Monitored Health Services program quality through performance management data; Evaluated program processes and made recommendations for quality improvement. • Presented process improvement initiative at a national conference as part of a Multi-state Learning Collaborative supported by the Association of State Health & Territorial Health Officials (ASTHO).• Launched the Division of Cancer’s Quality Improvement program, resulting in cost reduction in program operations and continuous professional development for staff in Lean Six Sigma.• Led a project team through the evaluation design of the CAN-QUIT Learning Collaborative, a program that has received national recognition for its effort to improve health outcomes in cancer patients.

Provided daily management and coordination for South Carolina’s HIV and STD Surveillance programs to ensure state, federal and program standards were met; Consulted with health care providers and communicated reporting requirements to medical facilities; Prepared grant applications, progress reports and monitored budgets. • Responsible for direct supervision of 10 employees (region surveillance coordinators, HIV/AIDS registry staff, and STD administrative specialists). • Managed multiple grant budgets totaling over 1.2 million. • Handled the State’s first HIV 2 investigation with CDC.

Monitored the activities of the state health plan and collected data required to complete state and national reports. • Responsible for establishing the first SC Oral Health Surveillance System which was instrumental in collecting the data driven measures for the State Oral Health Plan.• Facilitated the administration of the 2008 Oral Health Needs Assessment to include data collection, data cleaning, and performing data analysis.

Served as a statewide resource person for school district policy change in tobacco control; provided data for grants, reports, journal articles and presentations; scheduled statewide trainings for school administrators and teachers. • Produced technical reports for the 2005 Middle School Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS) and the 2005 High School YRBS.• Participated in the administration of the 2007 YRBS and was instrumental in securing weighted data.
