Welcome to my page!For as a long as I can remember, I have always had a keen interest in science. What I find most intriguing is its prevalence and impact on our daily lives. It was in the summer of 2013 when I experienced the horror of being in a terrible vehicular accident and was rushed to the hospital that I knew for sure what my dynamic calling and purpose in this lifetime was. The health professionals that attended to me during this time of need had one common goal: to help myself and the other injured victims recover. I knew from that day onwards that I wanted to help people not only locally but internationally as well. Too often many of my contemporaries make career choices based primarily on income and status. Even though these are important, my choice to pursue a Masters degree in Public Health (MPH) stems from the fact that I have a desire to make a difference. My undergraduate studies as a Biochemistry (Honours) major has not diminished in any way my interest for the field of study, in fact it has reinforced it. The four years I spent at Brock University has taught me that the desire to persevere and succeed is rooted from passion for what you love.Western's MPH program has not only allowed myself and others to discover their true potential, but it has given me the ability to apply the principles of leadership, governance and management, which include creating a vision, empowering others and fostering collaboration.A quote I aim to live by: “Life begins at the end of your comfort zone” -Neale DonaldFeel free to connect with me to exchange career advice and nuggets of wisdom.
