• Conducts initial patient interview following referral from physician, orienting and educating the patients regarding tests to be performed and treatments to be provided.• Schedules and conducts allergy testing ordered by physicians; schedules ongoing immunotherapy, as required.• Mixes vials for current allergy patients and gives scheduled injections• Orders allergen supplies for the Allergy Department• Updates or populates patient chart with relevant medical data; documents in the electronic Medical Record (EMR) any pertinent patient information.• Ensure compliance with all provisions of the Allergy Policy Manual.• Obtain Referrals for Allergy Testing and Immunotherapy as required by patient’s insurance company prior to the patient’s appointment and add to the EMR.• Notify the appropriate biller and provide the verification information for purposes of patient follow up.• Conduct percutaneous allergy testing, and scan results into the EMR.• Allergy Technician is in charge of the Allergy Clinic schedule. A physician must be on premises and the technician needs to keep patient safety foremost in mind when considering the number of patients scheduled per time slot.• Formulate and mix vials for patients prior to scheduled appointment. No expired vials are to be administered to patients.• Document progress of immunotherapy patients, convey any concerns to the appropriate physician, ensure patients are having a yearly physician “follow-up” appointment, and that patients are complying in obtaining an “Epi-pen”.• Create Allergy Test sets and monitor test sets for expiration dates.• Keep allergy Department neat and tidy with patient safety in mind.• Maintain a safe work environment (do not perform 2 allergy tests at the same time unless it is in a clinic where there are 2 allergy technicians).• Order supplies as necessary.• Keep ER kit up to date.• Notify the Clinical Manager of any problems with patient care, equipment, or supplies in the clinic.

Perform an initial evaluation of the animal's condition, clean and wrap wounds, check vital statistics, collect samples and administer medication. Perform basic lab work, including urinalysis and blood tests, and assist with procedures such as teeth cleaning. Help during patient examinations and surgical procedures by restraining animals when necessary, stocking examination and surgery rooms with supplies, sterilizing tools and ensuring that equipment is in working order. Communicate with pet owners and update patient files, and perform client education and awareness of zoological diseases, parasites, illness, prevention and animal behavior.

I communicate with the customer for any animal abnormalities or illnesses on their protocol. I also collect tumor measurement data, blood and tissue samples, perform gross necropsy, animal identification, blood smears, and animal tranfers at the investigators request. The skills that I offer to my customers are, but are not limited to, injections, blood collection, tissue or organ collection, bone marrow collection, visual gross necropsy, identification of animals, weight or tumor measurement data collection, breeder set ups, gavaging, blood smears, hematocrit and glucose readings, and irradiations.
