A physician must be on premises and the technician needs to keep patient safety foremost in mind when considering the number of patients scheduled per time slot.• Formulate and mix vials for patients prior to scheduled appointment. No expired vials are to be administered to patients.• Document progress of immunotherapy patients, convey any concerns to the appropriate physician, ensure patients are having a yearly physician “follow-up” appointment, and that patients are complying in obtaining an “Epi-pen”.• Create Allergy Test sets and monitor test sets for expiration dates.• Keep allergy Department neat and tidy with patient safety in mind.• Maintain a safe work environment (do not perform 2 allergy tests at the same time unless it is in a clinic where there are 2 allergy technicians).• Order supplies as necessary.• Keep ER kit up to date.• Notify the Clinical Manager of any problems with patient care, equipment, or supplies in the clinic. -
