I am currently studying the role of miRNAs in Alzheimer's disease and other neurodegenerative diseases to find potential biomarkers and therapeutic targets. What I enjoy most about my job is troubleshooting experiments, networking with research laboratories and companies, procurement of lab supplies, training/mentoring lab personnel, and learning new information. I thoroughly enjoy engaging in various laboratory procedures that are essential to molecular and cellular biology. These include the meticulous handling of cell cultures, the precise execution of immunofluorescence assays (IFA), the delicate isolation of plasmids, the fascinating observation of cellular structures through confocal microscopy, and the intricate process of conducting Western blot analyses. Additionally, I find fulfillment in working with animal models, such as mice and rats, and I am skilled in the careful processing of tissues for further analysis.
