Daily responsibilities as Medical Biller and Coder include preparing and submitting clean claims to various insurance companies through Medisoft while using Availity as our clearinghouse, appealing and correcting claims, and billing for referred pathology (professional component). Also, perform various tasks relating to back office activities including payment posting, collections, and prior authorizations to name a few. Back office tasks regarding pathology include utilization of APEasy. Duties as Referral Coordinator include utilization of RevelationMD to receive and communicate regarding requested consults. Duties as Front Office staff include utilization of Amazing Charts used as our EMR and practice management software (used for patient scheduling, and electronic charting), and use of Availity for Insurance Verification. Daily tasks during clinic hours include checking patients in and also checking patients out – collecting copays, coinsurance, and/or deductibles.
