- Assist in covering a national beat that focuses on stories that include and are of interest to Latino Catholics, such as spirituality, social trends, politics and public policy issues, pop culture and more. This will include breaking news, in-depth analysis and investigative stories for print and online, as well as multimedia, data journalism and alternative storytelling.- Bring and continue to cultivate a network of sources, especially within parishes, dioceses, geographic areas, organizations and academic programs where the Latino Catholic community is growing.- Research and prepare reports that analyze aspects of the Latino Catholic community, for use in editorial and engagement strategizing for NCR and EarthBeat.- Work with the editors and engagement team to strategize on how to best reach out to Latino Catholics as potential readers, subscribers, members and eventual donors.- Interact regularly on social media platforms that reach Latino Catholics.- Represent the publication through speaking engagements, at conferences and through media appearances, especially those that reach Latino Catholics.- Collaborate with NCR staff in preparing recommendations for the funding, staffing and focus of our coverage of Latino Catholics going forward.

- Maintain an excellent working relationship with the Executive Director and Deputy Director, assisting in facilitating effective decision-making around communications, execution of strategic communications initiatives, and providing ad-hoc analysis and decision support.- Lead development and execution of communications strategy on immigration policy- Research, prepare, fact-check, edit and produce news-driven and authoritative content to lead the narrative on forced displacement and show HOPE’s impact, create emotive storytelling to generate empathy and mobilize action by signposting concrete steps people can take to help refugees (action-driven campaigns, fundraising). - Monitor news and popular trends to insert HOPE’s messaging into ongoing conversations and identify key moments for proactive communications. - Research, prepare, fact-check, edit and produce content for external publication, including statements, media releases, web and social media content to advance HOPE’s overall strategic immigration framework, elevate issues to advance just border policy, highlight work, and share what we are learning with relevant audiences.- Forge strategic partnerships with individuals and organizations who can help produce and promote HOPE content, activities and messaging as well as provide research insights to improve communications - Ensure content created reaches maximum impact by developing strategies for distribution from the outset, boosting the visibility of our content on relevant HOPE channels and placing it on external channels - Act as a spokesperson for HOPE, organizing press events, handling interviews requests and providing responses to requests from media relating to HOPE and its work. - Engage with journalists and public audiences via social media channels - Regularly provide ideas for communications initiatives and considered professional communications advice to senior staff. - Prepare and manage communications budgets

As a recipient of Harvard's Presidential Public Service Fellowship, I will be serving as the Faithful Voter Field Director for Faith in Public Life this summer. I am looking forward to overseeing a faith-based Latinx voting initiative in Florida. 2020 is an important year for this country's history. I am looking forward to seeing how everyone uses their gifts and talents to mold the future.

I work with students individually to refine their professional documents and guide them in terms of vocational discernment and success. I work collaboratively with a team of varying experience in the field of career services. I am also responsible for publishing a weekly newsletter highlighting events, opportunities, and fellowships and representing Career Services at public events.
