My name is Melissa Elliott (she/her) and I am a PhD student in Sociology at Western University. I study social inequalities in crime and victimization. My most recent publication considers the relationship between victimization and missing persons by applying lifestyle exposure theory to police missing persons data. My master's research project investigated differences in victimization rates among Canadians from an intersectional perspective. Ultimately, my experiences in teaching and research have cultivated my skills in leadership, analysis, communication, and lesson design.
