After six months of temp work as a Machine Operator in the Fabrication department, I was hired on full-time as a Team Lead. I have been the Team Lead for up to 30 operators; some of my responsibilities include lining up the production schedule, conducting safety and informational huddles, maintaining our department's inventory of over 400 calibrated gauges, and ensuring dimensional specifications are being met by performing daily quality checks on each operator. Communication is critical on the production floor, and I constantly collaborate with other departments to ensure that we are producing timely, quality products for our customers in a safety-first environment. I frequently assist in the training and development of our newest operators, and I find that helping others to be successful is my favorite part of my current position.
