Over the past 6 years, and during the height of the pandemic, I have been the Director of the local food bank in my hometown of Elizabethtown PA, the Community Cupboard of Elizabethtown. My 20+ years of experience in the hotel/restaurant/hospitality industry helped make connections with my clients at the food bank. Even though it could be a stressful, sad and heartbreaking job, my time at the Community Cupboard meant a great deal to me and I will cherish it forever. With the craziness and hard times that came with Covid, it also brought out the kindness, support and love from our neighbors, churches, schools and local businesses to help their neighbors in need.In May 2023, I moved to Rochester NY to be closer to my kids, who continued their academic careers in the flower city (my son graduated from U of R in 2022 and my daughter is beginning her journey at Nazareth in the fall)! I hope to find a job in Rochester where I can use my years of hospitality, management and customer service experience. I hope to find a job like the Community Cupboard, where I can not just work, but make a difference in my new community.
