Melissa speaks in sparkles. Her ideas are known to cause tremors of activity, and her movements cause ripples in those around her. Underneath her skin lies the spirit of Beryl Markham and the tongue of an auctioneer. She learned everything she knows from her mother and she’s proud to admit it.After earning a B.A. in Communications and an M.S. in Soil Science, she launched her cooking classes for special needs children at a small art studio. She also regularly contributes food articles to Edible East Bay Magazine and the Santa Cruz Sentinel newspaper. While no one person can swoop in and save or correct everything, studies show that art therapy as a creative outlet provides healing to young adults and children as they are usually less capable and less comfortable expressing themselves through words. -

Each ewe is named after a garden flower and treated with love and respect. Our dairy sheep are seasonal producers--eachindividual only gives milk for about six months per year. This season, we have staggered our breeding and hope to have fresh milk for yogurt for most of the year.
