My eCommerce startup, The Cocktail Shop, was founded in 2018 to make drinking fancy cocktails at home more accessible to the everyday consumer. Sampling a variety of cocktails at home became infinitely easier. Instead of stockpiling numerous bottles of expensive alcohol to make just a few different drinks, all the ingredients came packaged in custom sizes with a recipe card. Plus online video demos helped simplified the steps to making the perfect cocktail at home every time. Starting out with the idea of all-Aussie cocktail kits that support local distillers and drink makers, The Cocktail Shop then added some handy bar tools and accessories. In 2020, the market shifted into gear as consumers became keen to try new things at home during lockdowns. The Cocktail Shop became the booming eCommerce business I had envisioned with Corporates sending cocktail kits to staff working from home.
