Transitioning from a Senior User Experience Researcher to Portfolio Director , I now spearhead the development of generative AI (genAI) products at Carelon. My journey has been marked by successfully deploying an internal language learning model (LLM) for customer service associates to improve call efficiency and enhance member and associate experiences. My role involves blending deep research insights with genAI capabilities to innovate healthcare solutions, focusing on operational efficiency and user-centric design.

Over my tenure at Carelon, I've played a pivotal role in developing and iteration of AI-driven clinical insights tools, step-care intervention platforms, tools targeting physician mental health, and aggregate health measures. My contributions also span clinical dashboards, workflow enhancements, and, most notably, spearheading discussions on integrating Generative AI in our business operations.

I was the lead UX Researcher on the science team responsible for translating mindfulness-based neuroscience research into digital tools used commercially. I worked on three project teams: The first focused on creating low. medium. and high-fidelity prototypes for concept testing and ideation with teen users via moderated user testing. The second project was a 30-day diary study of 40 college students· daily usage of our app. I followed 14 subjects throughout the study. I collected quantitative and qualitative data and was the lead UXOR for the data analysis. I worked with our design team to redesign our HMP app home screen. As the UXR for the project. I designed the research plan and conducted qualitative interviews. analysis. and communication back to the design team.

I utilized strategic sales initiatives and strong relationship-building to broaden Brava's advertiser network, driving revenue growth. I actively discovered and engaged with potential partners, strengthening Brava's market presence in Madison. Additionally, I assisted in the planning and execution of engaging community events, crafting experiences that resonated with our readership and providing an interactive platform for deeper connections with Brava's audience and advertisers.

I was the sole Project Manager on the Delta Airlines RFP, the most extensive RFP in Lands· End Business history. I worked cross-functionally across the entire business to manage RFP deliverables internally at LE and externally with Delta. LE ultimately won that RFP and now serves Delta·s above and below-wing employees. I created and implemented project plans on all $1M+ National Account launches. Plans included the execution of contractual obligations. custom web development. and launch. defining project scope. identifying resources required. monitoring tasks across all cross­ functional teams. executive-level updates. and project debriefing. I organized and executed all division-wide RFP/RFI requests and managed large-scale client-visit execution/ preparation based on sales vision. goals. and strategy.

I created SCFL s first-ever digital strategy roadmap to ensure program and campaign goals were measured and met. I modernized their communications tools and digital strategy to increase reach and engagement in alignment with SCFL's membership directives. I redesigned SCFL website to incorporate a broader range of communications platforms and create a more user-friendly web experience

I was the sole project manager to film director during the production of the award-winning film. "We are Wisconsin." I created, maintained, and promoted the film website and social media presence. I managed a fundraising strategy to promote films· multi-platform distribution. I conducted in-depth archival research for video and still photography for evaluation in the movie. Additionally, I was the point of contact for scheduling and promoting festival screenings, conferences, and events in North America and Europe. I also participated in film panel discussions for festival screenings in both the US and Canada.

As a Police Officer working the night shift for the City of Madison Police Department, I was immersed in a diverse and ever-changing community. I received extensive training in non-biased interview techniques and conducted thousands of interviews in various contexts. I had to quickly learn how to respond effectively and empathetically in unpredictable, high-stakes situations.I learned to quickly develop rapport with people in distressing situations, demonstrating a deep empathy for individuals on their toughest days. These experiences taught me to problem-solve under pressure, exercise sound judgment swiftly, and communicate effectively in both written and verbal forms.This role, though distinct from my later career in User Experience Research, has shaped my approach to UX work. The ability to empathize, build rapport, and make sound, swift decisions during interviews has been a foundational aspect of my career as a UX researcher.
