During my Junior year of college, I was managing over half a million dollars of online advertising budget that I had secured through my own grant writing. This led me to the role of Director of Online marketing at Father Joe’s Villages, the largest provider of services for the homeless in Southern California. During my senior year, I launched my own video production company, which I am proud to say earned the business of companies like Qualcomm and government institutions. I also produced the videos that ran in over 10,000 hotel rooms in the city of San Diego for multiple years leading up to the pandemic. I had been working with La Jolla Institute for Immunology in a freelance capacity for four years before joining the team as an employee in 2021. I have been fortunate from the nature of my video production business to be given an inside look at companies of all sizes, public and private. Most people have to make career decisions on a best guess, I had the advantage of knowing. I knew I wanted to be a part of what was happening at LJI well before I officially came on board.
