Crew resources officer for the deck officers and engineers at calmac. My main duties are:• Maintaining operational stability by resolving crew shortages and managing disruption while communicating any changes to crew due to vessel breakdowns or weather delays• Maintaining adequate levels of crew cover while considering logistical costs• Ensuring that the design and development of the rosters is in line with the CBAs• Maintain the HR database by recording all staff absences, call back and annual leave • Manage car hire requests, flight bookings and accommodation• Acting as first point of contact for crew taking parental, paternity or maternity leave • Request IT set up and uniform portal access for new starts • Assist with phased returns by issuing rosters that work within the recommendations issued by the occ health report• Coordinate the recruitment process ensuring that job short listing and interviews are set up in a timely manner• Processing leavers forms, calculating employee end dates and annual leave entitlements• Involved in college cover and progression - long term planning in covering vacancies left by crew attending college • Liase with the training department to assist with crew requiring training courses • Tie in with the HRBP to provide crew information to assist with disciplinaries, fact finds and meetings• Organising inductions and training for new employees• Track costs for finance so these can be allocated to the correct budgets
