Melvin’s guiding principle in life is to "be the change you want to see’ This powerful message has been the driving force behind his actions, he is an BA Economics and politics graduate, aspiring political leader, international speaker, award winning Social-tech entrepreneur, and activist and advocate for:Technology, SDGs, International development, politics & policy reform and racial equity,for the past 10 years Melvin has been a leading voice for young people across the UK, and devoted himself to addressing some of the most pressing socio-economic challenges facing society. Through his work, he has campaigned, implemented solutions, and influenced policy engaging with policy makers, business and political leaders on both a national and international stage, ensuring that the voices of young people are heard and represented pushing his voice to the forefront of change.He has led and been part of campaigns on mental health, entrepreneurship, knife crime, BLM, CSE, antibullying, he previously Co-founded “NOT so MICRO” a youth led organisation making education more racially inclusive by campaigning for mandatory microaggression and anti-racist training for teachers, and founded social-tech start-up Atls•Blk the first of its kind social media app for black heritage students in the UK, leveraging innovative tech such as AI, ML , blockchain and 5G elevating the black students experience and wider black community on an economic, social and financial level while tackling 5 of the 2030 SDG’s. Melvin's projects, talks and workshops have reached audiences across the UK, Europe, and the USA, inspiring countless individuals to take action and create positive change in their communities.His contributions include working with numerous youth organisations such as United by Birmingham, West Midlands police as a youth police crime commissioner, IMF as a youth fellow, the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games as their advocate for youth engagement, MENTOR, UNICEF, and others, Melvin has secured several board and advisory roles, WEF global shaper, The Peter Jones foundation youth board, and ambassador for Employability UK, #IWill, The Diana Award and UK Youth.
