Accomplishments include defining the needs for training and development at all levels of the organizations, defining and overseeing construction of our 7000 sq. ft. education center, creating and employing competency models for all production related employees, purchasing, configuring and deploying our first talent management platform (Cornerstone), advising and directing employees seeking higher education, and transitioning from a strictly annual performance appraisal to a goals and development based model, and implementing a consistent leadership development framework including coaching and mentoring.

Provided a stable environment for learning disabled students and the talented teachers who helped them reach their potential by promoting a positive culture and assuring that obstacles were removed. With an annual budget of $1M, my major accomplishments included installing a computerized financial system (initially Peachtree, converted to Quickbooks after five years), and eliminating a $140K general fund deficit and building a $100K surplus in the first 4 years.

As controller, I was responsible for all financial activities of a $1M furniture store and interior design studio. Responsibilities included AP, AR, general ledger, and audit preparation along with non-financial duties including property management, and employee benefits. Major project included creating customer statements in DBase III which improved communications and collections, and improving employee benefits while containing costs.
