Eng. Samir has many years’ experience in waste management, climate change, sustainability, and environmental engineering. During her career, she has leveraged extensive experience on both national and international levels. Her experience was made of different ingredients resulted from the different roles that she served. Eng. Samir has assumed technical, academic, and political roles all of which has contributed to build her competency as an Environmental Expert.Eng. Samir experience is rich and diversified starting from her long years of experience as a teaching assistant in a distinguished university to serving as an Assistant to the Minister of in Environment in Egypt during an important era of Egypt being the president of COP27. Noting that she plays a vital role as an assistant to COP27 Ministerial Coordinator and Envoy and a core member in COP27 technical and financial teams. In the financial part, she was part of the team responsible to mobilize financial resources to COP through partnerships, in addition to her role in the preparation of the Nexus of Water, Food and Energy (NWFE) package of projects that was extracted from Egypt National Climate Change Strategy 2050, which was launched to MDBs and Development Partners to mobilize the required finance. On another note, Eng. Samir was a member of the technical committee responsible for the preparation of the thematic days.Eng. Samir has acquired a strong academic foundation from Cairo University and Valladolid university specializing in the environmental field. Meanwhile Eng. Samir has experience in the closure of waste landfills and was one of the team who structured waste to energy system in Egypt and develop a municipal solid waste management strategy 2030.On the teaching side, Eng. Samir is teaching waste management-related courses with a focus on waste to energy, sustainable infrastructure, and climate change. In addition to petrochemical courses as she worked as a teaching assistant for 2 years at the future university in Egypt in the petroleum department.

In addition, propose new locations for needed landfills and waste incineration facilities.•Propose methods and approaches for promoting the circular (green) economy and apply the best practices for recycling. -
