Cambodia

In collaboration with a Cambodian women’s rights activist, interviewed over 25 young women leaders, then turned their stories into a ‘reality novel’ on female leadership.Diving Deep, Going Far was a top-10 national bestseller for several months and sold over 3,000 copies. Thanks to grants from two major INGOs, we distributed nearly 5,000 Khmer copies to some 100 schools and NGOs, who use them to teach gender equality and leadership skills to over 30,000 women and youth. In addition, over $2,000 in book sales was donated to grassroots projects, with a focus on education, youth empowerment, and women’s leadership.Diving Deep, Going Far initiated a movement that turned an ingrained, misogynistic Khmer saying (“You cannot dive deep or go far”) into a rallying call for women’s leadership.
