My very first job was babysitting and I also had a paper route before I was a hostess and server at Denny's in high school. I worked at a pizza place, a bank and helped open Pier 1 Imports on Rosedale Highway before my accounting career began. I helped assemble and send out tax returns at a small accounting firm, had a bookkeeping internship, and held an accounts payable position during college. After graduation I worked for a small accounting firm for two months before starting at the County. My first County job was at the Assessor's Office where I valued business and oil and gas property statements and conducted audits.I moved to the Sheriff's Office where I oversaw payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and inventory. I calculated various rates and contract costs. I performed various reconciliations and learned fund accounting and asset forfeiture. I assisted with budget preparation and projections.I moved to General Services where I was responsible for several construction budget units. I also completed and monitored the utilities budget unit. I calculated the indirect cost rate and construction billing rates. I assisted in preparing an escrow agreement and various Board letters. I moved to the Department of Human Services where I supervised issuance units and accounting staff. I assisted overseeing the assistance and administrative budgets which totaled over $500 million annually. I reviewed contract budgets and worked to maximize state and federal funding.I returned to the Sheriff's Office and currently supervise the accounts receivable section. I am responsible for complex rate calculations and preparing invoices for reimbursement to various agencies.
