About Meredith Lemke
I joined the Chesapeake Research Consortium in 2024 as an Environmental Management Staffer to the Fostering Chesapeake Stewardship Goal Implementation Team (GIT5). I help the Education, Stewardship, and Diversity Workgroups achieve goals and outcomes outlined in the 2014 Watershed Agreement. I am greatly excited to be working in the "people side" of environmental conservation and management.I am a 2023 graduate of William & Mary with a double major in International Relations and Environment & Sustainability. While at William & Mary, I directed my interdisciplinary studies towards environmental justice and policy, indigenous sovereignty, climate equity, and stewardship principles. Through my research assistantship position with the Institute for Integrative Conservation, I utilized equity assessment models to provide recommendations and targeted GIS maps for the Santa Fe Conservation Trust to improve DEIJ initiatives within their programs. I completed a Directorate Fellows Program fellowship with the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service in 2022, gaining experience in conservation communications.I achieved fluency in German as a youth ambassador with the State Department's CBYX program from 2018-2019. In 2022, I returned to Germany to study Public Governance Across Borders - with a focus in sustainable development - for one semester at the University of Muenster.

Environmental Management Staffer
I am pleased to announce that I have joined the Chesapeake Research Consortium. I am working with the Chesapeake Bay Program’s Fostering Chesapeake Stewardship Goal Implementation Team (GIT5) as an Environmental Management Staffer. In this role, I will be working to achieve the Stewardship, Education, and Diversity workgroups' goals and outcomes, as guided by the 2014 Watershed Agreement.
