Responsible for students ranging in age from 8 years to 12 years old and in various classroom settings (including but not limited to classroom observations, 1:1 learning, 1:2 learning, and students being pulled out for testing accommodations).Assisting students with their questions on the material prepared by their teacher and oversaw student testing and made sure their proper accommodations were in place.Training provided by the school on medical safety such as the use of epi-pens and the Heimlich maneuver.Training provided by the school on standard safety instructions for emergency situations.

- Genetic sequencing of SARS-CoV-2 (COVD-19), determining variants in Arizona outbreaks and providing crucial public health data to Epidemiologists- Daily use of Biorads/Thermocyclers for variant assays, cDNA protocols, and gene specific PCR protocols- Daily use of the Thermo Scientific Kingfisher for automated RNA extraction- Biosafety Level 1 and 2 trained- Trained in the use of non-ducted RNA hoods and ducted biosafety cabinets- Familiar with troubleshooting topics such as SARS-CoV-2 genome coverage breadth issues- Familiar with the deidentification, aliquoting and arraying of patient samples for research purposes- Involved with the validation process for improved techniques within the genome sequencing process

- Research conducted to identify the mechanisms of extracellular electron transport in an anaerobic microorganism (Geobacter sulfurreducens).- Testing completed during research included: polymerase chain reactions, restriction digests, ligation, DNA sequencing and gel electrophoresis.- Forward and reverse primers were created and used to isolate and observe mutations within genes of a geobacter mutant strain.- Additional, separate online research was performed to identify the quantity of predicted transmembrane helices within protein sequences for Desulfuromonas carbonis.

-Research conducted on laboratory mice containing curly whisker (cw) and curly-whiskers: 2-Jackson (cw2J)genetic mutations.-Defects of the hephaestin-like 1 gene (Hephl1) in cw and cw2J mice were identified and verification testing was performed to link the mutations to possible generation of barriers in histocompatibility.-Mouse breeding, genotyping and phenotyping of mice was done to determine if the mice are carriers of the Hephl1 gene.-Skin grafting of heterozygous and homozygous Hephl1 mice was done in order to observe transplant rejection and gain of transplant acceptance.-Testing completed during research included: polymerase chain reactions, restriction digests and gel electrophoresis.-Received lab safety training regarding proper handling of laboratory animals.
