Finance professional with a Master's degree in Transportation Management. My goal is to blend my love of finance, analysis and process with my passion for mass transportation to help make public transit a preferred mode of travel in the Bay Area. I enjoy thinking outside the box -- addressing problems in new and creative ways, and leveraging my private sector experience focused on efficiency and cost savings. I have two decades of experience managing projects and teams across both the private sector as well as for nonprofit organizations. I spent over a decade of my career with a Big Four accounting firm, serving dozens of companies, many with operations all over the world. As a nonprofit leader for the last decade, I have leveraged my professional skills at every organization and committee in which I have served. --as an auditor, I managed projects and teams worldwide under critical deadlines. Not only do I possess deep financial acumen, but I am a quick study with regard to understanding industries, processes, risks and more and thinking strategically about how to achieve the goals in the most efficient manner. In addition to serving my own clients, I was selected and trained to facilitate team planning strategies for other engagements. -- in the nonprofit sector, I transformed public transportation options for thousands of students in San Carlos and Belmont by partnering with public agencies and restoring bus service that had been eliminated in the 1990s. Several years later, hundreds of students continue to ride public transit daily here, and many kids continue to use transit as they move away to college.-- in the nonprofit sector, I created a shared services model for certain compliance aspects affecting several nonprofit organizations; --former Chair and member of a Bay Area transit agency Citizens' Advisory Committee. As a parent of three children, I believe teaching youth to ride transit is one of the most scalable modal shifts available to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, alleviate traffic congestion, and improve roadway safety to meet larger regional goals.
