Responsible for the Armament & Small Arms inspection and maintenance forecasting and completion programme for Company/Squadron/Regiment/Battalion held Armament/Turreted/Small Arms equipment. Developing leadership/management qualities in subordinate Corporals/ Lance Corporals. Developing the Class 3/2 subordinate tradesmen through guidance and experience gained. Prioritising tasks received in order to facilitate required training requirements on the Company/Squadron/Regiment.My daily duties included but were not limited to:1) Responsible for the trade development of subordinates within my trade discipline.2) Updating my department Production SNCO of any change in equipment availability.3) Updating job cards and ensuring I had out inspected subordinates work prior to releasing equipment.4) Completing Armament/Small Arms Inspection/Examinations and writing reports on findings correctly.5) Documentation: Updating and recording Inspections/Maintenance/Modifications within the Gun/Vehicle documentation of held equipment.6) Identifying and demanding of required spares to facilitate repair/maintenance required.7) Indentifying and obtaining the required specialist tools & test equipment required for tasks/maintenance to be completed. 8) Running of section calibration database, ensuring calibrated items were always in date prior to use.9) Updating FEMIS/JAMES, the computer system being utilised at the time to record faults/repairs/spares demands/job cards.10) Ensuring unserviceable accountable spares are returned correctly through the stores system.11) Ensuring all Small Arms scrap material in correctly segregated and back-loaded through the correct stores chain.
