My first job, I was with Teppanyaki since their grand opening day. We took care of the first customers. This is where I learned my foundations in customer interaction, quick problem solving, and leadership. The largest buffet in Indiana at 500 seats, I was free to try new things and develop a personal relationship with many customers over the years. This is also where I learned to put together and work as a cohesive team. Our front staff was small (standard 3 people on shift with 2~ staff off). Also no electronic way to communicate seat openings, short of walking around. It was not uncommon to have 1000+ customer interactions on a weekend. Teppanyaki had excellent management and I felt like part of the family here.
