Kenya

Designed, implemented, and ran a research project in rural western Kenya for my undergraduate senior thesis. Project was a system behavioral analysis as to underlying reasons for low adoption of Interlocking Stabilized Soil Blocks (ISSBs), a new technology for building homes, considered cheaper and more durable than traditional methods, that the Kenyan government was promoting and subsidizing.- Made contact with Kenyan county Ministry of Housing officials; identified and planned locations for surveys- Developed methodology, designed surveys- Hired and managed local research assistants- Conducted rural field studies; 10 rounds of surveying across 6 locations- Analyzed data and presented final thesis to county Housing officials with recommendations
