Prior to the position, I was trained about each beverage Monster sells and how to promote a specific one depending on the targeted consumer group. Then, as an ambassador, I generate trials of Monster Energy Drink products by consumers, communicate the Monster brand message to consumers, support sales efforts through event sampling, and approach consumers who “need” energy and generate trial.

In this position, I oversee the Student Government Association budget, which accumulates to about $1.3 million. This budget comes from the SGA fee all undergraduate students pay. I chair the committee called the Student Financial Control Board, who votes on financial requests made by clubs. I must keep an accurate record of the SGA budget, prepare the annual budget for senate approval, serve as a member of the University Budget Planning Committee, approve all expenditures after they have been approved by student organizations, hold at least two Treasurer’s Workshop sessions for all club treasurers, and update the SFCB Guidelines at the end of each spring semester.

This part-time position in the Rowan University Student Government Association office helped prepare me for the Chief Financial Officer position I took on in June. Here, I helped students who want to sign out credit cards and utilize purchase orders. Additionally, I completed any other additional tasks the SGA advisors asked of me, such as: scanning documents, organizing packages, and answering the phone.

In this internship/part-time position, I gained real world experience and was exposed to all facets of the mcfa business, with a focus on work that aligned with my desired future. I learned to provide technical support to project teams on various programs, support the business and operations teams as needed, attend project or program team and client meetings as required, and perform other business and finance related duties upon assignment or request.

In November of 2021, I began at Mama Francesca's as a phone girl and cashier. Beginning in January of 2022, I did delivery as well. In March of 2022, I was promoted to manager, where I created the weekly schedule for cashiers, assigned pre and post cleaning responsibilities, held meetings where proper customer service methods were reinforced, and created flyers for promotion and menu items.
