I teach AP Biology and Environmental Science in a college preparatory school in Fort Worth, Texas. I am also the Science Content Team Lead and Senior Grade Level Chair.I graduated from Franciscan University of Steubenville with a B.S. in Biology and a minor in Chemistry.In 2013-2014, I began my professional career working as a SLM (Salesian Lay Missioner) with the religious non-profit organization Salesian Missions, Inc. They sent me to the country of South Sudan to work mainly as a teacher and an administrator in a high school. Here I had great formation and transformation into the man I am today - spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and socially. I will never forget those I learned from and grew with, nor my desire to really share their story with the developed world. When I returned to the U.S., I began teaching. From August 2014 - June 2018, I taught Chemistry and Biology at Saint John Paul the Great High School in Dumfries, VA. I also coached cross country, indoor track, and outdoor track. I loved teaching and coaching. I loved having that opportunity to develop young people to be upright citizens, as well as ethical and moral leaders.I was always interested in the Environmental field and worked as a field technician for Farmer Environmental Group in Carrollton, Texas from October 2018-July 2019. It was great experience with a company who really cares about doing right by their clients. I learned a lot about indoor air quality and industrial hygiene. My professional aspirations and goals include the following: To do environmental research, research for neglected diseases, water quality research (particularly in regards to human and other organismal health and reproduction), or other biological/chemical research at an academic level; open up my own institution or become part of an institution involved in educating youth on environmental science (and related fields), building up an interest in nature, and teaching environmental stewardship.
