I am an accomplished group leader in high-throughput phenotypic screens driving hit to lead discovery in AgriTech spaces. I am a passionate data-savvy leader, who thrives on embracing challenges, nurturing creativity and fostering understanding to motivate and guide others. I spent 5 years at moa Technology where I led significant R&D efforts with the goal to discover new MoA of herbicides. I have extensive experience in multicellular organism assay development, validation and image-based compound phenotypic profiling. Previously, I spent 18 years serving as senior research associate in the Biochemistry Department at Oxford University where I trained and acquired a scientific background in classical and molecular genetics with skillsets from molecular and cellular biology, imaging, immunoassays to protein biochemistry. My experience in academia involved also lecturing in Developmental Biology, Molecular Genetics and Plant Pathology. I hold PhD in Life Science from University of Nottingham/Rothamsted Research and an undergraduate degree in Plant Pathology from the University of Lisbon.
