Part of the Product Analytics Consultancy team, working on product metric development and building TomTom's Analytical Data Plane.- Building metric pipelines for computing and tracking Estimated Travel Time accuracy and EV routing metrics in a Databricks-heavy environment based on complex Floating Car Data, routing engine logs, and Mixpanel collected events.- Collaboratively implementing the first Data Mesh structures for Analytics based on Databricks Unity Catalog.- Unblocking and mentoring junior staff in the team.- Advocating for improving the team's development practices on topics like CI/CD, testing, data quality monitoring, IaC, and Operational Excellence- Learning something new about Data Engineering / Data Science / Analytics Engineering every day - or at least trying to :)Tech stack overview: Spark, Python, Databricks, Azure, Terraform, Power BI.

As a Pricing Manager in the Intercontinental revenue group of Air France-KLM, I was responsible for implementing, reviewing, and optimizing pricing strategies for routes from/to South East Asia. I worked in close cooperation with my Sales and Inventory counterparts in order to improve our market positioning and boost revenues for the region.Given the COVID-19 challenges, much focus was placed on optimizing resilient traffic flows (i.e. Marine & Offshore), as well as on automating daily pricing decision support tooling using VBA and Python.

Designing and building Revenue Management decision support systems for Air France-KLM, primarily focusing on pricing related applications (i.e. fare competitiveness and market shares).Using C++, MFC, Python, and SQL for development, together with BMC Control-M for job running and scheduling.Notable contributions:- Collaboratively building an in-house binary data encoder for our apps that used columnar storage, tailored indexing, and had support async support for improved reads- Working on creating a RESTful API for exposing our proprietary data to web apps.- Incorporating new market share sources (i.e., IATA DDS) into the decision support application stack (backend and frontend).

The goal of the project is to develop a new integrated concept of assigning ground and airborne delays for flights in the European airspace in order to enhance overall network performance in the Air Traffic Flow and Capacity Management process

Main task: creating a statistical learning model for improving trajectory prediction• Studying and getting familiar with the ATM systems and flight progress messages from the CFMU related to trajectory updates in the MUAC airspace• Acquaintance with spatial data storage and transformations from databases• Exploring multiple statistical learning models and identifying which would best fit the task out of the following: linear regression, logistic regression, classification trees, and conditional inference trees• Building a statistical learning model based on conditional inference trees to predict the most probable first DCT to be issued by ATCOs to flights entering the MUAC sectors• Testing the model’s predictions on real dataProgramming languages and tools used for this analysis:• SQL statements / functions for data extraction and transformation from a PostgreSQL database, and processing of flight trajectories using PostGIS• QGIS for visualizing aircraft trajectories based on spatial data retrieved from the database• R statistical environment for data wrangling, building of the statistical learning model, and obtaining resultsSide activity: generating daily and weekly statistics for post-operational analyses regarding changes in traffic flows based on multiple parameters, i.e. sector group sequence, flight sector sequence, airline, ADEP, and ADES.

Main activities related to airspace design, flight efficiency improvements and sector capacity.Tasks involved in:1. Assisting in the simulation of future scenarios of airspace design for the FABCE airspace using the Network Manager's SAAM tool (System for traffic Assignment and Analysis on a Macroscopic level). The scenarios were the implementation of DCTs in Vienna ACC and full cross-border Free Route Airspace (FRA). Traffic flow shifting and efficiency benefits in terms of distance, time, fuel, CO2 and NOx emissions have been calculated.2. Participation in a CAPAN DP1 meeting at Palma TACC with the purpose of gathering relevant traffic structure information. The information was then analyzed in the RAMS simulator by the CAPAN team at EUROCONTROL's OPL unit.3. Getting acquainted with the European route network system and the Network Manager's systems for Air Traffic Flow and Capacity Management (ATFCM) in the Network Manager Operations Centre (NMOC, former CFMU) in Brussels, Belgium.The 3 months spent as a trainee at EUROCONTROL have made me aware of the current and future challenges of the European ATM system. They have provided me with important knowledge from an operational and practical perspective and have opened my interest for pursuing this path in my future aviation related career.
