Guest Service Agent
Current
Volunteer Program Manager
Group Supervisor
My responsibilities included overseeing a staff of 5+ and over 70 youth ranged from Kindergarten-8th grade. For staff I provided daily tasks, training and professional development, scheduling and regular assessments. For youth I was responsible for overseeing OST (Out-of-School-Time) Enrichment programming, and assessments. Through my organization, I was also able to partner with companies like Philadelphia Youth Network to lead the WorkReady Career Exposure Program for the past 3 summers. I partnered with United Way to empower middle school and young girls in professional and life preparedness through the 'Girls Today, Leaders Tomorrow' group. I am a member of the community outreach South Philadelphia Prevention Coalition (SPPC) that provides resources on those affected by the drug epidemic in South Philadelphia. I also provide a range of activities and events for the community and school that focused on issues that directly affected our youth such as homelessness/poverty, drug and alcohol abuse and mental health.
Team Leader
I worked within High schools in the Kensington community located in North Philadelphia. My first year was spent on a team of 11 to provide over 150 students Kensington Health Sciences Academy students with data-driven and individualized support in their learning communities. I did this through focus on Attendance, Behavior, academic courses and enrichment programs. I led events and initiatives for Social Emotional Awareness for the 9th grade. An example being a Bully Awareness Month presentation I created that included a recitation of one of my favorite poems "To this Day" by Shane Koyczan. My focus in 2018 was to lead a team of 13 in reaching more students within the Kensington community. In Kensington High School, I managed the outreach to over 200 students by providing resources, training and support to AmeriCorps members within the program to create intentional interventions with their focus students by properly utilizing data and building relationships with the students and staff. I foster and maintain relationships between City Year staff, sponsors, collaborative partners, teachers, school leadership and administration. I continued to develop my leadership by networking with City Year staff and company partners like Comcast and Deloitte on building professional skills and broadening my knowledge on the support of the non-profit model.
Before And After School Coordinator
I collaborated with the Director of the establishment to provide training, scheduling and development to a staff of 5+ people in order to coordinate and execute the plan for students who came before school and after school. The students were provided with breakfast and lunch, bus rides to school, after school homework support and enrichment activities such as sports, crafts, games, etc.
Assistant Group Supervisor
I created and executed a schedule and curriculum for youth ranged from grades 2-6. The curriculum included original lessons focusing on history, math fluency, reading, vocabulary and comprehensive skills. I collaborated with a small team to lead youth in creative and enrichment activities such as crafts, sports and trivia. I also acted as a chaperone for field trips off site.
