• As part of my degree programme, I secured a year in industry placement at Apple. The Operations Intern role involved working with all functions within the EMEIA Marketing Communications department and included:

• As a caddy at one of the most respected clay pigeon shooting grounds in the country, I was tasked with:

• Orange Aero recycles aircraft gas turbine engines. In the summer of 2012, I was responsible for stripping the main engine turbine modules from commercial aircraft. Work at Orange Aero included:
• Removal of turbine blade sets worth more than $1m per set to buy new
• The need to be extremely careful and remain focussed, with each individual blade having the same value as a small family car
• Stripping nine complete gearboxes that power the accessory units such as a hydraulic pump and fuel pump from Tri-Star aircraft on my own
• Recording relevant engine serial part numbers and inputting them into Microsoft Excel spread sheets
