Hello! My chosen name is Mia Taylor. I am an assistant director at Milwaukee Rep. Previously, I received my MFA in Theatre Directing at The University of Southern Mississippi. I studied theatre at Oglethorpe University and The University of Oxford. As an artist, I am committed to advocating for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (D.E.I) in all aspects of a theatrical process, both on and off stage. It is my professional goal to direct theatrical pieces that depict stories of the underrepresented and elicit an emotional response that inspires audiences to consider perspectives other than their own. Although I have an emphasis for directing, I also intend to support D.E.I. in other processes such as casting, producing, and designing. I hope my advocation for D.E.I. fosters new relationships and open welcoming conversations within audiences and emerging artists. Currently, my emphasis is in theatre directing and leadership; however, I intend to cross over into film in the near future.
