I focused on the study of alternative Hox mRNA isoforms expression on the mouse embryo. I also worked with mammalian cells, and collaborated with a top lab at the CRG, Barcelona, Spain. I mastered techniques like Western Blot, RT-PCR, qPCR, cloning, and RNA/DNA extraction, purification, in vitro transcription and labelling.

I sought to understand the fundamental principles of brain development. I was the first student hired when my PhD supervisor moved from the US to Argentina, and actively participated in setting up the laboratory. I undertook two major research projects on neuron and astrocyte development in the mouse spinal cord, both published in a prominent journal in the developmental field.Technical skils: immunofluorescence, in situ hybridization, mouse genetics, dissection of embryonic and perinatal mouse spinal cord and hindbrain, digital imaging and computer-assisted quantification of gene expression.
