As a human rights educator, I am deeply committed to fostering dialogue, community and action in all aspects of my work. I bring over ten years of informal and non-traditional education experience through camps, youth groups, swim and paddling instructions, first aid and lifeguarding and museum education. With a formal education in human rights and theatre and film, specializing in performance and costuming, I seek to engage in spaces that allow for community building and artistic engagement. My passion lies in creating accessible and engaging spaces for all learners to grow their abilities. From a human rights lens, I am deeply passionate about the impacts of policies on communities and how to create policies, practices, and tools that help support and sustain our community. In May 2023, I began a new educational journey in the Master of Leadership and Community Engagement through the Faculty of Education at York University. Understanding that all struggles are connected and thus all areas I list are connected to other areas I may exclude, I have experience working on issues of gender equity, 2SLGBTQIA+ rights, youth engagement, disability rights and access and settler colonization with relationships and engagement most specifically on Turtle Island and in Palestine. I seek to constantly expand my knowledge base to address emerging challenges and opportunities in the field. I find my greatest joy in forming and building relationships, as community is at the heart of any movement. As a whole person, I was born and raised in Treaty One territory, and I have a deep love for my home and its community. I am one-half of an improv duo that has performed across western Canada and a competitive paddler. I am an avid learner and find joy in and around water and nature whenever possible. I enjoy D&D and sewing and have many plants I attempt to keep alive.
