I lead our digital transformation and strategy programs, including analytics and reporting focused on customer trends and behaviors, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), web design and development. My sales and marketing activities are focused on the following customer segments; super majors, independent producers, operators, energy advisory firms, investment funds and independent investors.

Michael’s role is to utilize his analytical and business process experience in the commercial trading, energy marketing and risk management to helps clients make beneficial business changes that result in improved efficiency and significant cost saving solutions which are measurable, implementable and practical.

Michael Abraham is a Principal Consultant in PA’s Global Energy Practice in Houston. His areas of expertise include risk management, commercial internal controls, physical and financial trading economics, business process re-engineering, and commercial performance reconciliation. He has led and contributed to a variety of strategy and risk management assignments in the merchant energy and utility sectors.

Performed intra-month and forward tolling book analysis and evaluated price and exposure changes on the total portfolio p&l value. Acted as a primary liaison among Origination, Trading, Commodity Operations, Risk Management, Accounting and Information Technology. Performed daily spark spread analysis, monthly correlations, and daily volatilities to assist in the accurate daily mark-to-market valuation. Constructed tolling deal information by reviewing tolling plant contracts to obtain and model the associated fixed and variable costs to certify accurate intra-month and forward valuation. Reviewed end-of-day hedges and speculative positions related to physical and financial trading activities for both the cash and term book to ensure the proper hedge ratio valuation.

Managed numerous Sarbanes-Oxley Act Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) mandates for all energy related publicly registered companies by assessing internal control environments which affect reported financial statements. Developed sales relationships and go to market strategies after completing client requests for proposals (RFP) and provided extension opportunities at incumbent clients. Engagement responsibilities also included project sales, client management, and budgets and extensive project deliverables. Also provided guidance and leadership to clients in the form of commercial process reviews, risk policy assessments, enterprise wide risk management strategy, and risk management system screen designs for natural gas marketers, traders, wholesalers, utilities, municipalities and cooperatives.

Administered a proprietary software database system for a 100M Demand Side Management (DSM) project portfolio for a variety of energy clients. Maintained customer transaction and volumetric savings information. Managed and prepared financial models and analysis for customers and 5M in total baseline volumetric savings value. Created marginal rate savings rates by compiling customer commodity baseline data and working closely with pre-and post contract asset investment managers. Created prospective customer pricing proposals and information management for both pre and post contract groups. Interacted with other disciplines such as capital, utility rate management and tariffs, power and gas supply desks, along with account management to secure initial capital outlays, applicable rate and physical commodity delivery and deal management.

•Prepared the daily intramonth and forward marked to market (MTM) valuation for supply and market transport contracts for Houston Pipeline and internal affiliates. Responsible for pipeline market and supply analysis for the intrastate pipeline. Prepared annual pipeline budgets projected at 2M and revenue summaries for all business units.•Scheduled 1Bcf of shipper nominations on Columbia Gas Transmission (CGT) pipeline and insured the maximum utilization of pipeline transport contracts. Provided Enron Energy Services with daily scheduled nominations into various city gates. Managed 1Bcf a month and adjusted shipper and internal affiliates nominations to meet the changes in demand and supply.•Responsible for the deal entry and validation of the West Texas (West) region for OTC (physical and financial) deals, including verbal and written transaction confirmations from brokers and counterparties in the risk management system. Maintained and compiled a working knowledge of all executed West transactions. These deals include Swaps, Fixed price, Options, EFP’s and Trigger deals.•Daily responsibilities included futures and options position and margin account checkouts for all commodities by matching net positions from an internal trading risk management system against various clearingbrokers equity wire statements. Maintained and managed 1B dollars in futures and options and prepared open futures positions at the end of the contract month for delivery. Held accurate positions for financial traders and prevented unexpected P/L impact on financial risk books.
