Patrol LeaderAs the highest operational position within my unit, I act on behalf of the Commanding Officer with given weapons release authority.Command unit tactical teams on and off of water.Overall, in charge of over 100 sailors in regard to training and mission completion. Areas of duties include Groton, Newport, Virginia, and Africa.Point of contact for military ship/sub commanders, civilian boat captains and local law enforcement (Coast Guard, Police, etc.).Design, write and disseminate mission details through a patrol brief and concept of operation briefs.Led teams by example, consistently demonstrating correct behaviors and enforcing policies and procedures.Training OfficerEvaluated success of training programs and recommended improvements to upper management to enhance effectiveness.Established personnel qualifications and coordinated onboarding activities. Assessed skill gaps for employees and developed training courses to meet identified needs.Managed new employee orientation training process for more than four employees each year.Reviewed and edited all training materials for accuracy and company policy compliance.Identified training needs and planned classes accordingly.Prior to switching over to Boatswains Mate I was originally an Engineman in a small boat unit it was our responsibility when not running mission to maintain and perform engine maintenance which includes but not limited to:Battery cleaning or swappingFluid checks and changes on equipment (I.e trim tab pumps, coolant, marine gear, engine block, fuel)Electronic equipment (I.e. converters, inverters, engine sensors, rudder sensor, furuno, AIS, Cogent, starters, DAGR, etc)Mechanical components (I.e. Jet impeller, heat exchanger, air cooler, water pump)Hazardous Waste SupervisorIn charge of the receiving, storage, and disposal of all hazmat.
