Fond Du Lac, PE owned, is a 3PL service provider of warehousing and delivery in the beverage industry with revenue near $40 million. Responsible for upgrading financial reporting (for internal and demanding external stakeholders) and creating a detailed analysis to enable understanding of true profitability on a customer-by-customer basis. Also successfully helped to manage cash during a lean time, satisfying vendors, lenders, and customers. Left after successfully supporting the transition to a full time CFO.

Rock Falls, Illinois

Hartland Controls, formerly PE owned, is a leading provider/distributor of electric control solutions for the HVAC industry. The company had sales near $60 million, sourced globally and sold to a diverse customer base in North America. Responsible for finance, treasury, and strategic planning. Brought on to help ready business for imminent sale. A few contributions included:Implemented an improved automated financial reporting package, participated heavily in providing diligence information requirements across all functions to eventual buyer of the business. Also initiated a companywide process improvement group and oversaw the creation of a completely new dashboard. Left the business after participating in a successful exit in January of 2021.

Dundee, Illinois

Encore Repair, PE owned, was a leading provider of repair and remanufacturing services for electronic mobile devices. The Company, with then expected revenue close to $250 million provided a full suite of services for U.S. wireless carriers and large corporations. Responsible for finance, IT, supply chain, and treasury.

Elon, North Carolina

ECI, LLC, PE owned, is an international manufacturer and distributor of energy related products serving various industries. The company had sales near $225 million with US and international operations. Responsible for finance, IT, and treasury. A few contributions included:Significantly participated in the sale which resulted in a high multiple to another PE firm and was key member of management team involved in all diligence, management presentations as well as compiling the CIM in a highly intense and competitive process. Simultaneously assisted in the diligence, closing and subsequent integration of a bolt-on acquisition with over $40mm in revenues annually. Overhauled the financial system as well as helped to professionalize the overall reporting and systems to ready the business for sale.Also supported the Company's two recapitalizations and the negotiation of a new credit agreement within a 12-month period.Played a significant role in the creation of a manufacturing and distribution center in China, helping to create revenue growth, margin improvement which ultimately led to a 6% EBITDA increase for the international business. Exited the business after a very successful transaction.

Crystal Lake, Illinois

Asian footprint first established during my tenure. A few contributions included:Immediately preceding the economic downturn in 2009, managed an increase of over four points to operating profit in the prior 12 months and completed an acquisition that added $25 million in revenue at 15% operating profit. Also orchestrated the business turnaround, taking the company from a loss to almost 10% EBITDA in the 18 months following the recession.

Dixon, Illinois

Raynor, approximately $150 million in revenue, manufactured various building products, had multi-plant operations, and sold to over 35 countries. The Company was private, closely held and had transitioned to its third-generation owner as I joined the team. As an executive team member, was responsible for finance group, human resource function, risk management, management information systems, business process re-engineering department and overall company direction. Helped to improve the Company’s stock valuation by over 15% by focusing on cost cutting, improved capital, and balance sheet management, including debt restructuring and divestitures.

Mundelein, Illinois

MacLean-Fogg, with total revenues nearing $600 million, was involved with the manufacture of automotive fasteners for a variety of applications. One of the divisions, after sustained heavy losses in multiple years but, during my tenure, achieved a two-year, $10 million swing in operating profit, going from a loss of $7 million to a profit of $3 million on 10% less revenues.
